Listing your business, and how customers book

A service business on EasyTaskr fills in its Business profile, adds its services with how each is priced, and presses Publish profile. Customers find it by searching or browsing, open its profile, and book in four short steps without making an account. The booking lands in the business's Bookings list to confirm, quote, start and turn into a job card.

Who can list on the marketplace?

Businesses set up on EasyTaskr as service providers: trades, repairs, cleaning, fitting, servicing and similar work that is booked rather than picked off a shelf. Everything is run from the provider menu inside EasyTaskr, under Business profile, Services, Bookings, Quotes, Jobs and Reviews, so the marketplace is not a separate account with its own login. The customers who book you, the quotes you send and the jobs you finish all sit in the same system as the rest of your business, rather than in a separate inbox you have to copy from.

Step by step: getting your business listed

  1. Open Business profile. The first time, press Set up with AI if you want a head start: it drafts a description of the business and a first list of services from what you tell it. Read everything it writes and change anything that is not quite you.
  2. Fill in the Business tab. Your Business name, a Tagline (one short line under your name), About the business, and your Main kind of work. Add the things you work on, so customers searching for them find you.
  3. Fill in Contact. Phone, Email, Website and WhatsApp: whatever you want customers to use. Leave out anything you would rather they did not.
  4. Fill in Location. Your street address, town or city, county or state, postcode and country, and How far you travel (km), so customers know whether you cover them.
  5. Set Opening hours. Mark each day open with its hours, or Closed. They show on your profile.
  6. Choose how customers reach you. On the Bookings tab, switch on Take online bookings so customers can book a time with you, and Take quote requests so they can ask you to price a job first. Keep one or both.
  7. Add your services. In Services, press Add service. Give it a Service name, a Category, a Description of what is included, a picture link if you have one, the Usual time (minutes), and How it is priced (see the table below).
  8. Feature your best one. Tick Feature it at the top of your profile on the service you most want to be booked for.
  9. Publish. Back in Business profile, press Publish profile. The page now shows Live on the marketplace. Press Hide from marketplace whenever you need a break.

How should you price each service?

Pick the pricing that matches how you really quote. Customers see the price before they book.

How it is pricedWhat the customer seesGood for
Fixed priceOne price for the jobStandard jobs: fitting a part, a set clean, a service
Price rangeFrom and up toJobs where size varies, but within a known band
Hourly rateA rate per hourLabour-only work, call-outs, open-ended jobs
On requestCustomers ask for a quote and you price each jobBespoke, large or uncertain jobs

Use the Usual time (minutes) field honestly. It helps customers judge the job, and it helps you plan the day when bookings arrive.

How does a customer book?

The customer finds you by searching for what they need or browsing a category, opens your profile, and looks at your services, reviews and the about section, with your opening hours and contact details alongside. When they pick a service and book, they go through four short steps:

  1. Describe your task: the street address of the job, plus a unit or flat number if there is one.
  2. Task options: how big the job is: small, medium or large.
  3. Details: a summary of what they need done, such as the size of the space, equipment needed or access details.
  4. Your contact: their name, mobile number and, if they want, an email address.

They see Booking sent! and a note that you will be in touch to confirm. They do not need an account at any point. Businesses looking for help, rather than homes, see a version of the marketplace aimed at business tasks, with Get a quote as the main action.

What do you do when a booking arrives?

It lands in Bookings, where you can search by name, phone or booking number and filter by status. From each booking you can:

  • Confirm booking, once you have agreed the time with the customer.
  • Write a quote, with a price for each line, a Message to the customer, your Terms, and a Valid until date, after which the customer can no longer accept it.
  • Start the work on the day.
  • Make a job card, so the work is tracked from start to finish in Jobs.
  • Cancel booking, if it cannot go ahead.

Quotes you write show in Quotes, where you send them, follow them up and, once accepted, Book it in for the day of the work.

How do reviews work?

When customers review a finished job, their stars and words show in Reviews. Reviews waiting for a reply are marked, so none slip past. Write Your reply to thank the customer or say how you put things right; it appears under the review on your profile. You can also choose which reviews appear on your profile. Your rating and the number of reviews show at the top of your profile, along with the number of jobs done.

Tips for a profile that gets booked

  • Write the tagline for the customer. What you do and where, in plain words, beats a slogan.
  • Use real photos of your work for each service.
  • Say what is included in each description, and what is not, so the price is not a surprise.
  • Reply to every review, good or bad. A calm reply to a poor review often reassures the next customer more than the review worries them.
  • Keep hours and travel distance up to date, so you are not booked for days you are closed or places you do not go.

Once the job is done, getting paid promptly matters as much as winning it; our guide to getting invoices paid faster covers it, and how to price products helps with setting fixed prices that leave a margin.

A few things you might be wondering

Questions
people ask.

Have a question about your business?

Let’s talk
Do customers need an account to book?

No. They give a name and mobile number, an email address if they like, and the details of the task. The business then gets in touch to confirm.

Can I take quote requests instead of bookings?

Yes. In your Business profile, under Bookings, switch Take online bookings and Take quote requests on or off. Price a service as On request and customers ask you to price each job.

How do I stop appearing on the marketplace?

Open Business profile and press Hide from marketplace. Your profile, services and reviews are kept, and Publish profile puts it back.

Can I hide a service without deleting it?

Yes. Turn the service off. It stays in your list but customers can no longer see or book it.

Can I reply to reviews?

Yes. In Reviews you can reply to each one, and your reply shows under the review on your profile. You can also choose which reviews appear.

How do customers pay?

You agree the price with the customer before the work starts, and the customer pays you directly.
