An online business sells from a page rather than a counter. The customer never sees the stock room, so everything they need to decide has to be on the screen: what you sell, what it costs, how it reaches them and how they pay. After the order comes in, the work is the same as any shop: check the payment, pack it, send it or hand it over, and keep count of what is left. EasyTaskr gives a small online business two ways to get that page and one list of orders to work through.
What makes a small online shop hard to run?
Trust and follow-through. A customer who cannot see you needs a clear page and quick replies, and the owner needs to know which orders are paid, which are packed and which are still waiting.
Most small online sellers hit the same problems:
- No proper shop page, so orders come in as messages with half the details missing.
- Payments that are hard to match, like a bank transfer with no order number on it.
- Delivery charges worked out by hand for each order, and argued about afterwards.
- Customers asking where their order is, because nothing tells them.
- Selling something you have already run out of, because the page did not know.
- A website that took weeks and still does not take orders.
The fix is a shop page that asks for the right details up front, and an order record that carries the payment and the progress.
How do you get a shop page?
There are two routes, and they suit different starts.
Build it with AI. On the shop builder you describe what you sell, in a sentence or a list, and can add product photos, a poster or a photo of your price list. Press Build my shop and it writes a first shop: products, the words on the page and the colours. Switch between Preview and Edit, change the style, colours and lettering, or use Ask AI to change it. No account is needed to try it. When you are happy, Publish my shop asks for your name, a WhatsApp number for orders and your e-mail, which you confirm with a code. Our team checks every shop before it goes live, usually within one working day. The shop it creates is the same kind a social seller uses.
Set it up from the dashboard. An online business account opens with a setup wizard for the shop. Add your items, then press Publish Shop; a shop with no items cannot be published. The shop shows as Draft until then and Live after, and Unpublish takes it down again.
| AI shop builder | Shop from the dashboard | |
|---|---|---|
| How you start | Describe what you sell, add photos | Setup wizard, then add items |
| Goes live | After our team checks it | When you press Publish Shop |
| Delivery | One charge per order, free above an amount | Collection, or delivery with a fee |
| How customers pay | Cash on delivery, bank transfer | Bank transfer, cash on delivery or collection, pre-order and pay later |
| Order steps | New, Confirmed, Packed, Delivered | Received, Confirmed, Preparing, Ready, Collected or Delivered |
Step by step: an order on a dashboard shop
- The customer orders. They pick items, then check out with their name, phone number and an optional e-mail. They choose Collection or Delivery, and for delivery they give an address and see the fee.
- They choose how to pay. Bank Transfer, Cash on Delivery / Collection, or Pre-order (Pay Later). Placing the order takes the items off the shop's stock count straight away, and cancelling puts them back.
- They get an order page. It shows the order's progress and its payment: Awaiting Payment, Slip Uploaded or Payment Confirmed. For a transfer it shows your bank details and a place to upload the slip.
- They tell you on WhatsApp. The order page offers to send the receipt on WhatsApp, with a message already written for them.
- You confirm and prepare. In Orders, move it to Confirmed, then Preparing. When the slip is in and matches, mark the payment confirmed.
- You hand it over. Ready for Pickup tells a collecting customer it is waiting. The order ends as Collected or Delivered.
On a shop made with the AI builder the steps are New, Confirmed, Packed and Delivered. Orders arrive to be confirmed, and nothing is charged and no stock moves until you press Confirm order. Cash received records the money on a cash-on-delivery order, and a cancelled order needs a reason.
How should you set a delivery charge?
Charge enough to cover the parcel and the trip on an average order, then use a free delivery level to lift the basket. A threshold just above your usual basket nudges people to add one more item.
A worked example in plain numbers. Say sending a parcel costs you 3.50, your delivery charge is 4 and the average basket is 32. On a builder shop you set free delivery from 40. A customer at 32 sees "Add 8 more for free delivery."
| Basket | Delivery charge | Your parcel cost | Delivery result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32, no change | 4.00 | 3.50 | +0.50 |
| 40, one more item | 0.00 | 3.50 | −3.50 |
The free parcel costs you 3.50, but the extra 8 of goods pays for it if your margin on them is above 3.50 ÷ 8 = 43.75%. If your margin is lower, set the free delivery level higher. The markup vs margin guide shows how to work out your margin, and how to price products covers building delivery into the price instead.
How do you keep orders from slipping?
Work the list by status, every day, in the same order: new orders first, then payments to check, then packing, then hand-overs. An order that sits in one status for days is the one that turns into a complaint.
Both kinds of shop keep the progress on the order, and the customer sees it on their own order page, so "where is my order?" has an answer without a message. Bank slips sit on the order they pay for rather than in your phone's photos. Pre-orders deserve a weekly look, because pay-later money is money you have not got yet; the cash flow guide explains why that matters.
Which screen handles which job?
| Job | Screen | What it saves |
|---|---|---|
| Get a first shop up | AI shop builder | Weeks of building a website |
| Put items on sale | Items, Publish Shop | A half-finished page going live |
| Take an order with all the details | Checkout | Back-and-forth about address and payment |
| Match a bank transfer | Slip on the order | Hunting through your banking app |
| Tell the customer where it is | Their order page | "Is it on the way?" messages |
| Move the order on | Orders | Forgotten parcels |
How EasyTaskr helps
EasyTaskr can build a first shop from a description and photos, checked by our team before it goes live, or you set one up from the dashboard and publish it yourself. Customers order without an account, choose delivery or collection, and pay by bank transfer with a slip, cash, or pre-order. Each order moves through clear steps that you and the customer both see, and your own domain is available as a paid extra.

Questions people ask
Can customers pay by card on my shop?
Not yet. Customers pay by bank transfer and upload a photo of the slip, pay cash on delivery or collection, or pre-order and pay later. Card payment is shown in the settings as not available yet.
Can AI build the shop for me?
Yes. On the shop builder you describe what you sell and can add product photos or a photo of your price list. It writes a first shop with products, words and colours that you can change, or ask the AI to change. Our team checks every shop before it goes live, usually within one working day.
Do customers need an account to order?
No. They give a name and a phone number, an address if it is a delivery, and choose how to pay. They get a page that shows their order's progress.
Can I offer collection as well as delivery?
On a shop set up from the dashboard, yes: customers choose Collection or Delivery, and delivery carries the fee you set. A shop made with the AI builder takes deliveries, with one delivery charge per order and free delivery above an amount you choose.
How do I check a bank transfer?
The customer uploads a photo of the slip on their order. You see it on the order, then mark the payment confirmed, or on a builder shop accept it with the amount on the slip or reject it with a reason.
Can I use my own web address?
Every shop gets a free EasyTaskr address. Your own domain is a paid extra in the website editor, and you prove you own it with a record at your domain provider.
